What This Is

Our group of natural livin' mamas gets together once a month, kids and all, at Abby's place. We bring the ingredients needed to make five copies (one for each family represented) of a recipe to put in the freezer or pantry. Some of our meals are standbys, some are new ones to try. The goal of the group is to have fast meals to grab in order to no longer have to rely on the junk offered as fast from grocery stores or eating out, but also at the same time learn from each other, whether it be a new recipe or a technique or simply the basics of real food. It also serves as awesome fellowship time together, a support group. Each family gets a category to cook from each month, and the categories rotate. Our current ones are 1. Beef, bison or buffalo; 2. Pork or goat; 3. Birds of any make, size or model; 4. Vegetarian or Seafood; and 5. Lamb, Rabbit or Deer. We don't worry about the cost of things, as since everyone must cook out of each category in turn, it all evens out in the end.
